Educational War Museum located inside Edinburgh Castle itself, admission is free with a Castle ticket. I ended up coming across the museum late in the day and didn't have as much time as I would prefer. It is easily possible to spend a couple hours here, as well as a few for the castle itself.
Whilst visiting Edinburgh castle with my young family I came across the National War Museum. It was a pleasant visit other than not being very pram/wheelchair friendly. People were annoyed at the pram and there was a lift at the beginning of the exhibition and not at the end. It was nice to see the history of war in Scotland. My favourite part was the Poppies and remembrance
Located inside Edinburgh Castle, Museum has brilliant exhibits showing how Scotland have taken part in various wars. Only criticism is some of the areas of low light made it difficult for some members of our party to read the information boards, however, it’s understandable to preserve the quality of the artefacts. With free entry included with admission to the castle, it is a fantastic day out and will definitely come back.
Great museum and lots of amazing and interesting things from the war. Need more space when you’re going around though. Lots of people.
Geart place some where on decorations.
It's a wonderfully atmospheric building with great architecture, originally built and dedicated to those who lost their lives in the "war to end all wars". It has a special significance as a family member, who was killed in Mesopotamia (Iraq) in 1916, is honoured there.
Very interesting museum. Good covid precautions in place and felt very safe.
