I love a good burger. Everyone knows it. Mainly because I tell folk every day but, dammit, everyone is aware of my burger love. And these guys do really good ones. Its home is in the old Aspen building. The mirrored toilets pay homage to it but that's all that's left behind. In its place you'll find an awesome bar with the nicest staff I've ever met. Now the important bit; the grub. Burgers are the size of your face, the chicken wings are the best thing in the world (don't eat them on a date - you will get covered in sauce. And unless you're at that stage of your relationship, a sauce covered gob ain't a good look) and the milkshakes are amazing. To top it all off, they have this little, magic black card that gets you discount and free stuff. What more could you possible want?!

Edinburgh isn't short of Burger places but there is always room for one more and Rascals doesn't disappoint. They do a decent range of different burgers, they have a really good selection of toppers for them too, and also have some great sweet potato fries! The service was pleasant and speedy but we had to move seats as they had booked out the table just after we had sat down. We also had a couple of wrong items brought to us. I am putting this down to new staff and not long being open however.
I went for the first time as some of my friends had been. I got a voucher to spend at Rascal's and after hearing about all their amazing burgers, I couldn't wait to try it. From the outside, the decor is clean and modern (it's situated on what used to be Aspen on South Bridge). On our arrival, we were greeted by a member of staff although the one behind the bar didn't seem very welcoming. This dampened my visit and why I didn't give this place a rating above 4. Despite the less than warm welcome, the waiting staff who served our table was courteous and attentive and the burgers were amazing. The burger was just the right size and the chips were fresh. I truly enjoyed my meal and I was glad that I had the voucher to give me a taster of what I was getting myself into before committing myself to spend a lot of money. My partner and I went with a couple of friends and I've been recommending other friends to go here for their truiy mouthwatering choices of unique burgers!
Great place to hang out and stuff your face with meaty meaty goodness. An ok selection of beers but the main draw is milkshakes, cocktails and foods. Tasty burgers and chicken wings covered in sweet or spicy sauce!
If its burgers you want, then goddamn it, it is the hugest selection of burgers you are going to get at rascals. A seriously mouth watering selection of everything and anything you can get on top of a burger is on offer and they do not skimp with the portions either, go here very very hungry.
We went for a team lunch. They didn't have enough proper hairs for a group of 8 so we had to sit on bar stools on tall circular tables that were too small. The quotes on the wall are trying too hard and are not classy at all. The food took a while to come and the last meal arrived as the first person was finishing their meal. It was Midweek and not busy. Very limited for vegetarian options without cheese. Basic bar food.
Fabulous food! Usually go for a burger, but tried the pasta last night... amazing!!
Great for burgers and shakes. This place should be busier. Their burgers are excellent value at 5 quid with plenty of chips and relish. I have only been once but live down the road and can say this place is the best for food out of all other local options. Its better food than the Tron, its better value than City Cafe and the staff are nicer than all those places to boot. I went with my gf and we both had milkshakes with our food. They were waaaay better than I expected and a real treat. If you are looking for lunch and don't want to spent too much cash then this place will suit anybody from a young professional to a student. Thanks guys :)
