Excellent, efficient service; very safe and Covid-aware pick-up and drop-off; immaculately clean vehicles - who could ask for more? I’ll definitely be using Sixt again!

I initially booked online with a 10 per day car hire who were based outside the airport and wanted over 995 as a deposit for 3 day car hire. At this point, I visited the Edinburgh Airport Car Hire Centre and met with Vlad at the Sixt desk. I explained the situation and he could not have been any more helpful. He provided a great offer on an Audi X3 and the customer service was exemplary. He explained where the pick up car was, how the returns worked, how the insurance was and any questions I had, he answered expertly. When I got to the car, it was sat waiting for me in the bay, it was spotlessly clean even though it had a few scratches and dents. The car was a dream to drive and really enjoyed the 3 days I had with it. When I returned the car to the airport, I was met by Miguel so again was very friendly and informative. He looked over the car with me, we talked about the car and again a seamless handover. The car was fine and he signed it off. Customer services and manners cost nothing and both gentlemen were exemplary members of staff; offering handshakes, advice and directions. Moral of the story; you get what you pay for and Sixt are definitely worth paying for!
Great staff at the Edinburgh branch, but the customer service and back office service is terrible. I hired a van for the day. The fuel tank wasn't full when I collected it and the starting mileage was wrong. I was told to take photos of any issues and it would be fine. But now that I have issued them to Sixt, they are not taking it as evidence. According to them, I managed to cover 29 miles through the centre of Edinburgh, in a van, in 8 minutes. So basically an average speed of 218mph. Because I was able to drive at 218mph for 8 minutes, they are refusing to review my excess mileage claim.
Decent prices car and van rental. The office is a bit basic and they weren't open when I came to drop off, but otherwise quick and easy rental!
Rented a van for a home move. The vehicle was fantastic, the staff friendly and relaxed, and everything went smoothly. The only downside was that I did not expect an extra surcharge for comprehensive insurance, as I thought this was included in the price I paid when booking online; perhaps it was an overlook on my part, but the booking process was not clear about it and did not offer full coverage as an optional extra.
