The Parish Church of St Cuthbert Reviews | Rating 4.5 out of 5 stars (5 reviews)

The Parish Church of St Cuthbert is located in Edinburgh, United Kingdom on 5 Lothian Rd. The Parish Church of St Cuthbert is rated 4.5 out of 5 in the category christian church in United Kingdom. A city centre congregation in an ecumenical parish grouping ("Edinburgh City Centre Churches TOGETHER) seeking to minister to those who live, work and visit in the city centre and to explore new patterns of church. 'OASIS' is one of St Cuthbert's ministries, serving the business community and exploring connections between business and spirituality. The organisation is sponsored by the Parish Church of St Cuthbert in partnership with St John's Church and St Andrew's & St George's West Church: It operates as a partnership of business and church leaders who seek to support individuals and groups in the business community. More specifically, we offer times of worship through the week when a few minutes peace and reflection in the beauty of St Cuthbert's is provided, notably at the Tuesday 1pm Healing Service and the Thursday 1pm 'Space for Lunchtime Prayers'. However, the monthly 'soul space' event has proved to be especially valued by several of those who work in local businesses. These occur on the 1st Wednesday of each month (except January, July and August) with the church open from 12.30pm-2pm and from 5pm-7:30pm to allow people to come and go as they wish. Optional short led reflections are offered at 1pm and 7pm. OASIS seeks to work in partnership with 'business matters' and Work Place Chaplaincy, Scotland. The place is incredibly. It is an old chapel with lot of history throwback in 1800. The graveyard was the same, above the Edinburgh castle. Beautiful view and peaceful.

This is a wonderful historic church with a friendly congregation and they are renowned for their charity work.

The oldest Christian site in Edinburgh which predates St Giles Cathedral, the former High Kirk of Edinburgh. The churchyard and cemetery have some interesting graves and are worth visiting.

A quiet environment in busy central Edinburgh. The park/cemetery has good views of the castle and a Tiffany window features to the left upon entering the nave, next to a large organ. The volunteers are welcoming and keen to impart their knowledge of the church. The church featured a beautiful piece by video artist Bill Viola when visited but the lighting around the display detracted a bit. Otherwise a decent spot for contemplation or rest.
