Anxiously approaching the door for the first time, admittedly feeling a little embarrassed, I was greeted by some extremely helpful and caring volunteers. Providing a hot drink and biscuits, soft drinks on offer too. It's a very friendly, non judgemental environment. The volunteers were keen, enthusiastic and knew exactly how to help. It's three days supply of food that the voucher entitles you to. Also having a pet, I was able to get food for him. Anticipating a negative, upsetting experience due to my circumstances and reasons for being there, I was pleasantly surprised. I often feel society, including \Jeremy Kyle show \ (NOT a fan) make anybody claiming benefits or on a low income are almost not worthy. The people at the Trussel Trust had not the slightest concern but to help and get you food whilst in need. I'm certain the food I received will last nearer a week. Fresh fruit and vegetables are cheaper to buy. It was just lovely having a hot meal at my own place. Being in need of food frm a food bank is something I imagine not many people would want to broadcast. However, I can rest assured that the number of people who reply on this service is staggeringly high. There's no shame in getting help when you are in need. Thank you very much for all the people who put in hard work, donations and time for this scheme to exist. It's a life saver.
