This is a mixed review of Within Sight Vision Center. I made an appointment to get a new prescription and glasses. The staff were polite and I didn’t wait more than five minutes to see Dr. Hunter, who examined my eyes and told me I needed two pairs of glasses, a multifocal/progressive pair for general use and a bifocal for reading. I informed him that for over thirty years I’ve used one pair of glasses for everything (bifocal or progressive). He was adamant that I needed two pairs and very particular about a long list of lens embellishments. I selected two frames and was told by the staff that my glasses (2) would be ready within two weeks, usually less. Although I have VSP insurance, I spent just over 700, about 500 more than I have ever spent on glasses! I called several times, and finally, after a month both pairs had arrived. I’m quite satisfied with the multifocal/progressive glasses, which are good for general use and reading. But the so-called reading glasses (bifocal) aren’t nearly as good for reading as the multifocal glasses. Useless. I really wish Dr. Hunter had not pressured me into buying them. The front desk refused my request to return the reading pair for a refund and only offered to change the lens to multifocal. I’m disappointed and will not give Within Sight my business in the future.

We have no issues with the care Dr. Hunter provides, but the billing and administration of the office is a nightmare. We received bills and adjustments to an appointment 11 months later, after paying over 300 out of pocket and being assured multiple times that we were paid in full. Very disappointed, and will not be back.
I visited the office in April for my free annual eye exam. Dr. Hunter prescribed some eye drops for a minor allergy. I didn't think anything about it at the time as I didn't plan on filling the prescription. After about a month, I received a bill for the eye exam. I called the office and asked if they could explain why I was getting a bill and they said it was because they billed my medical insurance instead of my vision insurance. I again made sure they had all the correct info and ask them to bill my vision insurance. Fast forward, I've made four trips to the office to try to get the issue corrected and each time I'm told they will get it fixed or at least call me back. They still haven't billed my vision insurance and I haven't heard a word from them. What was supposed to be my free annual exam has now cost me an additional 200. I'll never go back and I recommend you don't either.
I wish I had never gone here. The prescription was off, and I canceled my contact order. We had to call and go in several times to finally get the order canceled. Their billing department is very inefficient, and we received multiple bills for the same visit. The last bill was a year after the exam! We have always payed our bills promptly, but they keep sending us additional bills. Dr. Hunter gave both my husband and I \dire\ news about our health which was wrong on both counts. We will never go there again.
After going to another Edmond optometrist for over 20 years, I was pleasantly surprised with how friendly the staff and Dr. Hunter were. He took his time to explain what I needed and why. All were good dealing with an \older\ person and understood someone try to save a few dollars. Will recommend to my wife and our kid's families. Also are willing to give you your prescription that you paid for. Great place.
