Manila Bakeshop offers the best Sans Rival ever here in Edmonton. My husband loves it so much. They have also other sweets to offer and all tasted really good. Fair price and the owner is very nice and friendly. Highly recommended.

The only problem I have with Manila Sweets is that everything smells so wonderful that I have a hard time deciding on what to order. I recommend coming here at least once. Why only once? Because once you try it you will for sure be coming back with out my suggestion, yes its that good!

Baked chicken empanada had a really buttery shell, flaky on the edges, nice chew, the egg tart was a little sweet (sort of expected) and the shell was really well done, sturdy but yielding to bites, it didn’t crumble much.
This review is long overdue, I had the female baker make a cake for my daughter-in-law’s baby shower-I had seen the photographs of her work on the Facebook marketplace, but so often photos are one thing and the actual product delivered is another… So I was very particular on the phone when I was ordering; specifying what I wanted - I was so focused on making sure it would be done nicely and without any errors… I kept trying to get her to guarantee it would look as good as the picture… I think I was a bit of pill lol. Her responses were patient and good-natured, assuring me that it would be beautifully done. When I picked it up and set it up for the shower- I was not disappointed at all, in fact, I was completely delighted. The cake looked so pretty and the taste and freshness were also perfect. I learned from my discussion with the gal, that she is self taught, and takes great pride in putting out beautiful cakes. I am avery pleased customer and will take all my custom orders to this business. The price is very reasonable. You will not be disappointed. Don’t hesitate to give it a try.

They might have beautiful and delicious cakes, but they have terrible customer service. The old woman who runs the shop has expressed over and over through the tone of her voice and other non-verbal cues how annoyed she is that we’re inquiring about our wedding cake in person. When we tried to gently explain how we’re struggling to navigate their website, she shrugged us off rather than assisting us. Terribly disappointing experience especially, as a Filipino, I believe in the importance of supporting Filipino businesses in Canada. Sadly, their shop wasn’t a welcoming environment for their “kababayans.” EDIT: I appreciate that you apologized. Although the details in your response was a misrepresentation of what happened, I forgive you. I do hope you’ll take this as a learning opportunity to retrain as a team on how to handle customers with respect. Like what I said, your shop has great products! Looking forward for your success as you improve on customer service. After all, I would love to see my kababayan thrive! All the best.
Let me be the one to tell you that Anne and Arnel are a pleasure to deal with. I have been to Manilla cakes to many times to count since they opened up for both lunch and treats. I've ordered multiple cakes and they are absolutely delicious. My personal favourite is the vanilla buttercream. The cake is moist, fluffy and just sweet enough. It just melts in your mouth. My guests are always sneaking seconds! Order from here, you will be glad you did!
