Appointment for \out of province inspection\ at 9. Very professional and prompt. I have a 2018 Hyundai with 38k mileage. Some earlier review about \finding defects to make money for out of province inspection\ had made me a little apprehensive about going to Optimum. But my work permitted me to do it only on weekends and no \out of province inspection facilities\ are open on Saturday's in Edmonton other than Optimum. (At least as far as google search says) I am glad, I went ahead with my plan to do the inspection on Saturday and went to Optimum. No defects were detected, as it should have been. And the bill was what it should have been. Being the only place I found in Edmonton, which opens on Saturday for out of province inspection, Optimum should receive an additional star. Thanks for catering to the requirement of the Monday to Friday (9-5) working class from other provinces who move to Edmonton with their vehicles, life and possessions. Optimum made it easier and cost effective! Great savings as Optimum is Fair Priced also saves half days leave (if one has to do it from any place else, as all out of province inspection places seems to function only Monday to Friday)

I showed up here unannounced for an out of province inspection after having a bad experience at another auto place. When I walked in, I was greeted immediately by the owner (Basit) who was super friendly. I told him I needed an inspection and asked when he could fit me in and he told me right away. He got my truck up immediately and finished quicker than he said he would. I was very impressed with the service and professionalism. The only negative I would say, which I will not deduct a star for (but if I could, I would take half a star away) is that I was charged an extra 9.45 on top of the quoted inspection price for \Shop Supplies and Enviro Dispos\. I felt like it was odd to charge this fee on an inspection. I am not sure how the shop spent 9.45 on shop supplies or enviro dispos for an inspection but I am sure the owner can explain. Or perhaps I was incorrectly charged this amount. Either way I wish I would have known before hand about this charge, but I still would happily have paid it, I just would have liked a bit more transparency. Overall though very pleased and I will be returning here for brakes and any other work I need! Thank you!
Went in for help with a flat tire (which they helped very efficiently and kindly) and ended up with a great deal on a requote for some working needing to be done. And when I went in, it was done within the quote and working smoothly. Of course, booked more business with them and will for sure come back!!
Came to get lights installed, dropped off my car at 930am picked it up at 5pm. I bought my own led ground lights to be installed and after having the car all day I was told it took 6 hrs and they tried to charge me 800 had to argue with them about the price and they lowered it to 600 but told me I wouldn't get a receipt for the work done. Not at all happy with the price would recommend going somewhere else to anyone else looking for this type of work needed on their vehicle. If I was told the price estimate before I wouldn't have brought my car here. I was also told it would have only taken 2-3hrs of work. I would say its shady that they charged me that amount and not give me the receipt.
I brought my bimmer here to get front end work following a minor collision, upon a recommendation by a friend. The mechanic insisted that control arms only come in pairs (false) so he should do both instead of only the wrecked side, and also charged 200 more for the parts than they should have- I found this all out after checking the Napa website. The mechanic either didn't bother checking prices for parts or just straight up ripped me off. I also talked to the owner and he wouldn't lift a finger for me.
