I asked them if there was a discount on 6 month lease. They said yes it will be on the lease. After wasting two weeks, asking the same questions(from different people), they call me to finalize and say there’s no discount even though there website says there’s a discount on leases over 4 months.

I had rented an apartment only for a short period. Within a week of renting my son passed away ( he was already in ICU when we rented). The management returned the damage deposit and 100% of the rent also . Infact Ms Haley was very understanding and cooperative. I did not even mention her anything, but she extended all her help. Even before all of this they were so quick in every process while handing over the apartment after all the necessary paper work. Thank you Haley and the Galen loft management.
Great location and we'll maintained building.
overpriced and filthy. the whole place has a weird stench to it, and during our stay there, a lot of the tenants were creepy, made elevator trips quite uncomfortable. A lot of them looked homeless, and they may have been, since the security was awful. On leaving, we were told to clean the entire apartment including the SHEETS and TOWELS for the next tenant, as they don't hire professional cleaners to do that for any of their tenants. Makes me shudder just to think one of the current tenants living in the building did the \cleaning\ for us prior to us moving in. Most of the staff there were pretty pleasant, although they seemed disorganized. There were quite a few damages in the apartment prior to us moving in, we noted the damages and spoke to 4 different staff members about the issue, and none of them could give us a straight answer about whether that would be noted in our file so we wouldn't be charged for them. I'm guessing that's how they squeeze out a few last dollars from each tenant. You can find much cleaner, nicer-smelling, safer, short term rentals in edmonton.
Convenient location, although if you want to save 160/month on parking and instead do street parking, good luck to you as you are competing with the hospital and the university. The Galen parkade also couldn't fit our truck as the clearance was too low. The suite was comfortable and well furnished and the laundry was fine and reasonably priced. Their customer service was disorganized and information was not transmitted accurately between staff, which resulted in duplicate phone calls to deal with a single issue. Biggest concern for us was the security deposit, which we were warned by other tenants not to expect much money back during the move out inspection. So, we cleaned like never before and still got dinged unfairly. The whole move out inspection process was frustrating, and in the end, as we were warned, their cleaning charges were a total racket. I spent the better part of two weeks talking to multiple people to get four hours of cleaning charges for things like \light dust\ down to one hour. The customer service (? Resident experience) representative we dealt with was excellent, in the end. It is notable that tenants we met were hospital outpatients, linked to the loft through social work funding at UofA. I worry for patients and family members who stay here and are unable to clean on move out, and lose their 1000 cleaning deposit. They have a mandatory dry cleaning fee for the linens, so I'm not sure where the previous poster's dirty linen comment came from. And also I never felt unsafe or in the presence of sketchy tenants while staying there. It is noisy at night (STARS helicopter every day or night) and there are loud and unsavoury folks frequenting the area. But, it is beside the Tim Hortons and across from a major hospital so it is to be expected. See also the reviews on the Windsor Park Plaza and Lofts page- Windsor Park owns the Galen lofts and uses the same policies and procedures as well as staff.
