the Loisium is definitely one of the top addresses for the relaxed wine enthusiast. The rooms are spacious and very modern, the staff very courteous. If you want a nice view, you should also order a room at the front side of the hotel when booking. the hotel is the perfect starting point for day hikes or, thanks to the spacious spa and sauna landscape, just to chill out

My review about this hotel has pros and cons. 1. Rooms are very nice, lots of space and with an incredible view. The products availabke in the bath are of top quality 2. The restaurant didn’t impress me, it was not bad but not wow. The white wine was not cold enough and even if they replaced it, it didn’t get better. Service was OK, but in such a place I expect more attention to the details 3. Reception - we arrived for a weekend and we thought of booking a massage, but it was full for both days. Even if I booked over booking.com they should suggest to book in advance 4. Breakfast maybe is great for the selection of natural fruit juices, wine, porridge and eggs disghes and fresh fruits... but in my case with gluten intolerance and histamin (I know exceptional case) only fruits was good for me. Otherwise all good I guess! 5. SPA is nice and the outdoor pool is amazing if you get the summy day
Perfect wine& spa hotel. A piece of heaven. Take a glass of good wine and let life go.
We have been there for a spontaneous trip and it was high season in south Styria, so the hotel was fully booked, crowded, and we did not have a single time hot water. The excuse and explanation at the reception desk was, that the hotel is fully booked, therefor it could happen that the heating system does not provide enough capacity of hot water. That s maybe an explanation, but not an excuse. We got a refund of 20%, but honestly - no, never ever again.
Good pool outdoor Finnish sauna Bad room 132 being a connecting room to 131 so unless you want to hear absolutely everything (showers, conversations, the TV) from strangers don't go for this room type. Ask when booking. It was so loud I barely slept. The spa was like a train station. Very busy, the loungers very close together and folks were using the phones to make calls and one lady even facetimed her son. Usually I would have a conversation about my stay at check out and not post online but the front of house staff were all trainees. All in all, I wouldn't visit here again.
I visited Loisium for business purposes and greatly enjoyed my stay. The staff was perfectly polite and courteous, the rooms furnished modern and spotlessly clean, and the food was excellent. During our workshop sessions we were frequently provided with snacks and drinks but never disturbed. The hotel is situated on a hill-top nearby a castle, and if it had not been very foggy, I can only assume we would have enjoyed great views of the surroundings.
great location plus view, great service, cuisine and wines perfect - but the saunas need more loving care and attention; and you'll find none of the outstanding craft beers of southern Styria :-( - so if you aren't into the local over-priced vino hype, or into "cool" hotel designs (slaughterhouse-type tiles and the like), pick a more comfy and cheaper accommodation in the area
We don't have the best experience with this hotel for several reasons. Even though the hotel allows pets, they are not permitted to go to the hotel's restaurant (despite our small dog was politely carried in a bag, they did not let us in). Instead, we were sent to the bar to eat there, and they haven't even prepared the table for us. The design of the hotel's rooms is very impractical (e.g. if you want to take a shower I'll flood your whole room). The overall design of the hotel is modern, almost impersonal. The rooms were not properly cleaned (e.g. the floor was not cleaned well). The staff's reaction to our complaints about the way our rooms were cleaned was impolite, their behaviour was cold and snobbish.
