Quite beautiful!
The Church of St. Nicholas is a good for a brief stop for those interested in Romanesque architecture. The church itself was first abandoned in the wake of the Reformation, then destroyed in the Peasant's War and later heavily renovated under the influence of 19th century historicism. Most interesting are the intricate Romanesque capitals which adorn the exterior and some interior columns. They are likely from the same school which carved those in the Wartburg. Interestingly, they do not represent local masonry traditions, but rather the artisans likely came from the Mosan (Maas) Valley, a major center of Romanesque art. Similar capitals can be seen in the churches of Maastricht.
Mittelalterliches Gebäude in Eisenach. Sehr sehenswert
Hinter der Kirche ist noch die Kapelle.. für Feierlichkeiten ganz wunderbar!
Sie hat mich sehr beeindruckt ️
Sehr schöne Kirche mit einmaliger Architektur, hell und nicht so Prunk überladen.
Innenstadt. Wahrzeichen. Leider nicht von innen sehen können.
