Am not a barbecue fan but I enjoyed the ribs and the pulled pork. The Mac and cheese was delicious, too. But the corn bread was the best, even took some home (wait for the take out was sooo long and there were not a lot of people)! Restroom in the building. Outdoor seating was available. Great location, short walk to the beach. Lots of street parking. Will definitely come back.

*Great Covid Precaution August 2020* - Outdoor seating available: 3 tables in the front and 4 tables in the back (parking lot). Everyone stands in line, one party is allowed to go inside the store at a time. When the food is ready, your number will be called and you pick it up at a separate window. Every employee is wearing a mask. Shout out to Sydiney, who was busy taping up signs before they opened but still manage to give up some tips and recommendations :) Star of the show is the brisket (5 stars). This is coming from a person who almost never likes brisket. The brisket is truly tender, easier cut through with a plastic forks. Banh Mi sandwich with ribs (4 stars) - It showed up in burger buns, so I ate it like it was a burger. It had a ton of meat, very satisfying. However, the pickled carrot lacked flavor, maybe the homemade pickles are a better option to make it taste more like a banh mi. Sides: Beans & greens (black-eyed peas with collars green and sausage, yum!) and potato salads (strong rosemary fragrance, not your typical one). -Sausage was good, pulled pork was tender but nothing special, and ribs were not as fatty nor tender and fall-off-the-bone as I expected. In short, an exciting addition to the BBQ scene, especially in Half Moon Bay. They just opened in April, so come and give it a try. Tips: 1) Pour the tangy BBQ sauce all over everything 2) You can buy a quarter pound of pulled pork instead of half a pound 3) The line is short (or non-existent) during cold days

Loved this place! The food was ready less than 10 minutes after we ordered in person and the lady who took my order was really nice and helpful. We ordered a brisket sandwich, 8oz Mac and cheese and a salad. It was enough for two people and everything was delicious! The sandwich was sooo flavorful and the meat had the perfect texture. The highlight though was the salad which was unexpected and just delightful!! Will definitely be back to try more.

The food was AMAZING!!! And the servers were sweet and friendly. They also had a really good system for social distancing and they are very clean. 10/10 would recommend.

Great brisket and great hot links. Friendly service. The coleslaw is really tasty and so it the cornbread. Will definitely come back.

Omg, the BBQ is the BEST!!!! And the cornbread best (especially with that special butter they make) and I have tried many a cornbread in my day. SO delicious and so many different tasty interesting things on the menu.

Went here with my parents after seeing their advertisements on the beach. I got the pulled pork sandwich which has great texture and flavor. It was crunchy and savory with a nicely toasted bun. I am not usually a fan of mustard but the mustard and apple slaw made the sandwich! The cornbread with maple butter and coarse salt was delicious! Definitely try it when you go! The owner Wyatt came out to talk to us and check on how everything tasted. If you’re ever in the area make sure to stop by and support this local business. Breakwater Barbecue unfortunately opened up during April so they have been hit hard by covid.

I celebrated my birthday last night in this delicious restaurant. I am glad to say that we enjoyed a pleasant evening and the place was certainly one of the reasons for that successful meeting. The waiters cooperated in a very nice style, the food was yummy and my friends were so glad. We shall definitely return for more events. thanks very much.
