I had no idea this place existed until our patriotic organization scheduled a day trip here. I thought it was one little building but it's HUGE. The best way to do this is to get a group & schedule a tour. You'll learn so much. They have displays and memorabilia and videos and donated items. Have grandpa's WWII letters, photos, etc and don't know what to do with them? They'll gladly take them to enrich our nation's story and preserve all the stories of our everyday heroes and heroines. I want to go back as the 2 hours we were there wasn't enough. Eldred, PA has something really special here.

Steve Appleby is passionate about his work as creator of the museum. My American Legion (Post 434, Brocton, NY) had some pictures and WWII manuals donated to us. We have no appropriate way to display them and with the permission of the donor we took them to Eldred. Because of Covid the museum was closed. We saw the grounds keeper - I didn't get his name - and ask him if he could contact someone. He didn't have a cell phone so he walked to the post office but it was closed for lunch. He continued to the pharmacy and asked if they would call Steve and they did. When Steve got there and we showed him the pictures you would have thought we gave him three gold bars. The museum is a must for everyone. Steve is a great guy to talk to and a wealth of information. It is a wakeup for your kids and grandchildren.

Very nice! A lot of history, a lot of information. I learned so many things about the local history and the role it played in ww2 and the war in general

Wow; this little town museum is done better than most museums that I have ever visited. This team does an outstanding job at telling the human stories behind almost all their artifacts. Stories of local vets and families on both sides of the war and their memories. The guy running this place is fantastic at doing his job and absolutely loves when he is doing to bring all this history to today's visitors. I would highly recommend this to everyone near this community. And the place is stuffed with items and write ups about them. Allow plenty of time; this is not a place for a one hour stop. Too much to see and learn!!!
