Elements designed the remodel of our apartment. They were great to work with--creative, flexible, meticulous, and we couldn't be happier with the final product. They also worked with us through several designs and were very sensitive to our budget, while making sure that the final design accomplished what we cared about. I have the incredibly good fortune of living in a home designed by William Scholtens. We have lived all over the world and we have resided in a variety of unique homes. When we moved to Chicago we spent 3 years looking for the right residence. Out list seemed do-able: abundant natural light, well designed spaces, excellent finishes and superb craftsmanship. However, after well over a 100 real estate showings the list seemed impossible to fill. That is, until we stepped into the home Bill designed. It’s hard to exactly describe what it is like to live here. It a combination of being in a tranquil resort, as the finishes are so simple yet elegant, and being in the homiest of homes where family can run and play and eat and enjoy each other’s company without worry. The design and detail lend itself to happy and calm environment. And there is a creativity about the space that inspires as well. I continue to marvel at the unique but meaningful touches Bill thought of throughout the home. We recently contemplated downsizing as our family has begun to fly the nest. But after months of painstaking showings, even the most modern penthouses and hip brownstone could not compete with the world that Bill has created. The fact that it is a platinum Leed certified house only adds to the thoughtfulness of this home. The only downside to living here is that Bill has spoiled us to almost every other house.
