While at the beginning of my treatment I enjoyed the service provided at ConscientiaMD, that relationship slowly deteriorated. I had an appointment scheduled for 3:00pm on a Thursday. I was called at 11:00am that day saying that they no longer accept my insurance and if I didn’t cancel before 1:00pm, I would be charged the full 175. They gave me 4 hour notice that I could no longer see my doctor. I called 3 times and left voicemails saying that I would like to cancel my appointment. I sent emails saying I would like to cancel my appointment. No one responded. I noticed that they had already charged the 40 copay to my credit card. Finally, at 12:45, the receptionist answered my call and said she had made a mistake and they are still accepting my insurance until the end of the month. There must have been a week left in the month, so thanks for the heads up, I guess? In a disappointing turn of events, I still scheduled an appointment with my doctor before the end of the month. I entered the virtual waiting room. She never came. I called her. She never called me back. Really upsetting because I enjoyed her as my psychiatrist, but she ghosted a medicated patient. Finally, I have emailed them twice to refund my 40 copay for an appointment I never had and they have said on both occasions that they will let their billing department know. I have yet to receive a refund. What a headache for what I thought would be a good relationship.

Scheduling appointments online is very straightforward and convenient. They send many reminders of your appointments to you so it’s easy to remember—which is good if you’re like me and forget these things. The appointments are video chat, and you get enough time to discuss medications, effects, and quality of life based on these. I see Dr. Ginger Simor, who is excellent! She has a very calm and soothing demeanor, and has great advice. She does not force unnecessary medications on you, and takes the time to create a well thought out, intelligent course of action. I’d say my life has improved since meeting with her and taking my medicine, and I’m very thankful for her help. thank you Dr Simor!

The psychiatrists are great and are very welcoming. However, the billing department works very poorly. If they owe you money, it'll take weeks to even get a response. My insurance covers most of the cost, and I was charged for things that I didn't have to pay for. I've been trying to contact billing for 3 weeks for my refund, and no one has gotten back to me. The additional stress from financials has definitely not helped my condition.

I was able to get an appointment within 3 days of inquiring. The ease of booking my appointment was also seamless. Very efficient practice and I couldn’t believe how smooth the process was. Dr. Sim is one of the best psychiatrists I’ve seen in all my years. She listens and actually cares. The best part is that’s they accept my insurance and my copay was only 10. I highly recommend this practices for your “sanity”. Definitely 5 stars!
