Our unit had a leaky roof for over two years and management kept patching it instead of having it repaired/replaced. At one point, a contractor hired to “fix” a leak in our roof did so by putting a 3.5 gallon bucket under the leak in our attic. About a year later the bucket filled up and fell through our ceiling. We finally moved out when mold began coming through the ceiling, and couldn’t reach management to put in our notice. When we were finally able to do that, they kept our deposit and an overpayment on our rent well past the legal number of days and couldn’t be reached because the apartment manager had quit (at least the 5th or 6th manager) in my 4 years living there.

They’re remodeling these homes, but it’s essentially putting lipstick on a pig. They’re old and have a lot of problems. Our A/C unit barely worked. Our heater went out for almost an entire month during the dead of winter. Our freezer stopped working a few months in. Our neighbors roof leaked and was told it’d be months before they fixed it. I was Told I wouldn’t have access to my apt during the day for a week while they repaired dry rot in the stairs. They raised our rent by 90 the first year, then raised it again the second year, and added a water fee. The cherry on top is they charged us a 150 cleaning fee when we left. Even though they admitted they would be renovating the entire apt. Floors, paint, counters, appliances, the whole thing. So what did they clean, I wonder? Not to mention we left the apt spotless. Don’t waste your time here.
Neat, relatively quiet and newer complex. The best part for me was the 2 block walk to old town elk grove for the bars and restaurants and 1 block the other way to a pretty nice shopping area on Waterman. A lot of tenants have been around for over 3 years so you see familiar faces often.
