Enjoyed our meal here today. My only gripe was the table spoon number that they provide seems to result in staff wandering about trying to locate who the food or drinks are for and when we did finish our meal i ordered 1 more beer which after 15 minutes of waiting i asked where my beer was to be told that oh that must be the 1 on the bar. Apps do not solve human contact in my opinion. Bring back being at the bar and ordering food and drinks asap.

called in here on the 12th April. The day of lockdown lifting in England. We were on the way into wales and thought would have a quick pitstop on the way through seeing as the pubs had been closed for so long. Well what a mistake that was. My family and i have never felt so un welcome anywhere else. a chap basically followed me back to our table where my wife and 3 children were sat to frog march my wife to the track and trace label, when i was on the way back to ask her to go anyway. We were with another family and asked to sit together and was very rudely told its a maximum of six people together. I politely informed the very angry lady it is a different rule for 2 families and even the posters on the pub window that she told me to read said the same but again she very angrily told me its the law, 6 people only. I wasn't going to start arguing with her so we sat down and ordered drinks. We then spent the next 30 minutes being stared at by what seemed like all the staff at one point or another. another family turned up from what looked like a walk with the dogs and they were told they couldn't sit and have a drink because they hadn't booked, although there were around 8 empty tables. It was a horrible experience and made us all feel a little bit down to be honest and right before a final part of the journey on holiday. Needless to say we wont be back. What a disgrace of a pub and staff

Food was lovely however I was cold although I was wrapped up. They need patio heaters.

A pleasent and clean looking Carvery with standard pub grub on offer. There were lots of other diners about so we ordered our meals and drinks. However our visit was soured by the poor standard of cask ales that we purchased, which was further compounded when we brought this to the attention of the bar staff. I must admit that after much wrangling, with very poor excuses, the manager reluctantly agreed to exchange them. Sadly we felt hostility & coldness from the bar staff for returning the drinks, instead of thanking us for bringing it to their attention.
