Nice village pub right by the train station. Plenty of space and tables for eating.

Poor customer service. Booked for a party of 18 and manager had agreed to arrange the tables so we could sit together. On arrival the tables were either in a 4 or 6 layout. It's basically a carvery. Food was OK for the price. Plenty of parking.

It was our first time to the Hooton Pub and it definitely won't be the last time. The manager Carl was very welcoming and friendly and our waitress Rhea was lovely and extremely attentive. We had the carvery. It was beautiful and all fresh and desserts were to die for

Very limited menu. Didn't have one of our choices. Despite it being quiet waited an hour for food. One plate was served incorrectly, it was changed but everyone else had finished. Then they'd added extra item to the bill. Good job we checked...... AVOID!

What could be better on Mother’s Day, a nice charity dog walk down the Wirral Way with friends, get back as the pub opens and sit in the beer garden, with some food and drinks after?? That’s what we thought any way... a dozen or so of us turn up as arranged at 10 before the pub opened, so as not to be a bother, parked our 8 or so cars in the car park and set off. We get back to the cars just after the pub opens to the not even half full car park. The 'manager' standing in the door way and tells us it’s a private car park, and we should have parked elsewhere. One of our group go and speak to him and explain what the plan was, he says "well you can't were too busy it's mother’s day, the police were here before because someone called and said dogs were fighting in the car park" and ducked back into the pub. A call to Cheshire Police tells us that there hadn’t been any call within 1000meters of the pub as far back as 6AM that day. The ‘manager’ had lied. Rather than make a fuss in the pub he was asked to discuss this outside. When challenged about it he still insisted there were 3 police cars outside the pub, he didn’t like being found out, and now he has another member of staff with him gets brave and aggressive shouting “FK OFF YOU BELL END” and pushing and shoving me away from the door Suffice to say we didn’t spend anything at the Hooton that day, nor will any of our dozens of local members while it has that manager in place.

Went to the carvery Wednesday night although the meat seemed tasty it was cut so thin you couldn't taste it. When I informed the chef and the manager was blamed on the management company won't be going back in a hurry I'm not greedy but I was still hungry and manager was obnoxious who paced the floor all night. No wonder it was quiet. My mother asked for Eaton mess which wasn't on the menu but when it came it had a chocolate brownie in it ??? Puzzled by that but at least one positive that he tried to make amends reluctantly. Sorry we didn't go somewhere else

Very slow service, hardly anything on the Menu available, spoilt a rare family meal, food that we did get was good but small portions, only for it being late evening would of walked out. Compensated with a voucher to return for there carvery Sunday lunch, thanks but no thanks, felt sorry for the staff looked like they had hardly any training.

Had the cajun chicken sandwich. Tremendous. Wife had beef stew. Delicious. Well worth the cycle here!
