Had lunch today at the Cajun Depot Grill. Food and service was excellent. I had the shrimp and grits which was delicious and my husband had gumbo and catfish. The gumbo was so good we had to get an order to go. Tanner was our server and she is wonderful!! She made our lunch so special with her wonderful personality and excellent skills. Thank you Tanner and the chef at Cajun Depot. We will be back.

I came in with high expectations and was slightly let down. There was about a 20 minute wait outside. After we were seated service was very slow and took over 45 minutes to get our order taken and food to table. Not to mention, a very consistent employee yelling across the restaurant, “someone will get you in a minute” every time someone walked in the door. So overall atmosphere was less than appetizing. Now to the food, for the type of restaurant and price, I expect perfection in the field. All of the fried food was undercooked and not crispy as should be. The other dishes were mediocre. This place could use some primping.
Price was very high for what you got. My husband ordered the stuffed catfish and liked the stuffing more than the actual catfish. Green beans were all right. I got the fried catfish, and while the portion was very large, nothing out of this world especially for the price again. Waitress was very friendly!
Cute little restaurant up in the mountains. Was craving some Louisiana inspired food pre-trip before my bi-annual vacation to New Orleans in the French Quarter. Though the food was a bit on the salty side, the dipping sauces were delicious and enough to counteract the saltiness. It's easy to overcook oysters, but these were spot on. Large portion sizes, so be prepared to engorge yourself, or get a to go bag. Staff members were attentive, courteous, and taking covid-19 precautions.
The food is good. The service is great. I leave the 5th star since the staff was friendly and attentive. My only complaint is a personal one. I'm an actually Cajun, and this place is a bit more New Orleans style than Cajun. I say that only to prevent other Cajuns from expecting something closer to home, or non Cajuns from thinking this is authentic Cajun. The food was indeed good however, and certainly worth giving a try. For reference, I had a andouille sausage \poboy\ (served on french bread), seafood gumbo and beingets for dessert.
