I have never deal with such an unprofessional business in my life. I rented here for a year, my roommate and moved in and went without a refrigerator for about a month and a half. Poor management, the company cannot keep a property manager it save their lives. We had no one to call if anything went wrong. About the last 2 months of the year lease I singed, my roommate and I kept getting letters saying we owed them over a grand. We never missed and payment and it left us confused. The letter went on to say that we would be evicted if we didn't pay it. So, we called and emailed and never heard a response. This went on for weeks. We needed an explanation, they were not getting money out of us without one. My roommate finally got to talk to them after weeks of no response and they told her, \it was a clerical error\ and it was a mistake. After moving out, my roommate stayed and got a new roommate and they informed me that they are once again, receiving the same letters telling them they owe Baumann Property Company a huge amount of money. This place is a poor poor excuse for a business. I DO NOT recommend this place or any of its properties. They knew we were two young girls and tried to scam money out of us, and by the sounds of it are trying again with my old roommate and her new roommate. VERY SKETCHY!

This rental agency is the worst I’ve experienced in my life. They take great care of the properties that home white families and fully neglect their housing for black families. They only respond if it is about money. They leave repairs needing to be fixed for months. Their response during COVID hardships was beyond awful. They change the name of apartments to mask bad reviews under previous names. There are many great places to rent in St. Louis, this is NOT one of them.
My daughter rents from this company. Trash dumpster is never emptied and has trash mounded up over the dumpster and all over the ground around it. No repairs are ever done, we had to replace toilet seat ourselves and bathroom door lock when they were trapped in the bathroom because of it breaking. They did not have a refrigerator for nearly the first month after moving in. Would not recommend this rental company.
I have lived in Hillcrest apartments for nearly 8 years. The property has deteriorated BADLY over the years. Management has switched out soooo many time, i can no longer keep track of the employee names in the leasing office. Maintenance men are found from the streets, majority seem to suffer from drinking and substance abuse issues. I went in person to put my work order in this morning for my AC and i was shown a stack of previous work orders for AC unit repairs. I was informed that there's only ONE PERSON qualified to fix AC units. When do these guys realized its time to hire outside contractors to assist with completing the work orders for the AC UNITS? Ive lived here since 2012 and ive never paid rent late. I can no longer live under the deteriorating conditions of HILLCREST apartments so this will be my last year here. The temperature is in the nineties and im currently 7 months pregnant with Asthma. I need my AC TO WORK. PLEASE DO NOT MOVE HERE.
This Company is the worst to work for in my life, and I'm 56 years old. There's nothing professional about the General Manager at all. The General Manager does not know a good Employee from a bad one, does not know how to keep an Employee and has no clue how to hire anyone. Sure, anyone can be replaced, but what are you getting? My first 3 years with this Company was great, then the new Gm came and the last year was nothing but frustration. I really hate a Company that thinks the idea of a good Employee is one that sucks up the most.
