Very good walk up a wee hill, suitable for all kids and dogs alike. On foot only, not suitable for biles or wheelchairs. The Prop is impressive and bigger than you’d expect from the road. Climb up the spiral stairs inside the folles to reach the parapet, which offers excellent views of Tarves and surrounding country, 360 degrees. Enough space at the top for two or 3 adults at a time.

Absolutely loved this place. If you turn off the B999 and head towards Ythsie, a short distance along the road you will see a small car park on the right hand side (or using your sat nav - this postcode will take you right there AB41 7LS). once parked and now on foot, take the farm road to the left of the car park and follow it until you see a wooden sign with a small badge saying \Prop of Ythsie\, turn right up there and follow the path all the way to the top, it does get quick tiring by the time you reach the top, but trust me it is so worth it when you eventually get there. next a quick climb of the spiral staircase to the top of the tower, then you will be stunned by the most amazing views and it's just so peaceful up there. I have visited lots of these towers or Follys as they are also known and this has to be the best one so far. 5 stars *****

Open all the time it seems. Very short walk from the car park. Nice and easy walk up the stairs. Your can see all around on top.
