Went rafting with them today; 3 rafts; about 20-25 people. It was out first time on the Connoquenessing, first time with this outfitter. We didn’t know them. Knew nothing about them. We had a party of four; myself and 3-14 year old novice girls. This isn’t a highly commercial operation but there’s not a single thing I could say negative about these folks or place. Yeah. It couldn’t have worked out any better. Perfect weather. Outfitters very nice people. Just the right number people for 3 rafts. Water was nice!! Class 2 - 3 so nothing crazy but just enough rapids and excitement for a couple miles so that everyone had a great time. If you’re novice or never been, this perfect. The outfitters are very safety conscious, had all the gear, coached everyone on safety, how to respond if you fall out, what hazards exist and where to go one section at a time. Once you’re on the river you feel like you’re complete wilderness, completely cut off from anything commercial. The river gorge is very scenic. Saw a couple eagles, ospreys, and a deer. Stopped half way for shore lunch/swim break. Jumped off 15’ High rock. And owner Dean tells you a lot history about the area and river usage as you move from section to section. Dean and Lynn are wonderful extraordinary people and clearly have a love for kayaking and taking care of the clients. Highly recommend them, especially if you’re novice or beginner or just want a nice nice outing.
