Pre-pandemic, this was one of our favorite spots. The food was always good, the staff is very friendly, and prices are good. Earlier this week,, we ordered takeout for the 1st time since the pandemic began. The staff is still friendly and the prices are still good....BUT the food was disappointing. An order of scrambled eggs and toast contained eggs that had been cooked until they were browned and dry and toast that somehow was toasted around the edges (crust only) and was completely untoasted everywhere else. The \toast\ did not just get soggy - it wasn't browned at all. The very worst part, though, was that our drinks had been placed into a drink tray, which an employee picked up from the back counter and placed on the customer counter before bringing them to the register. The drinks sat there for a few minutes within a foot or so of customers who were unmasked and chomping and chatting away. Of course they must remove their masks tob eat, but why ON EARTH, would you put other customers' food in the direct path of everything they aspirate? We had stopped in to buy a pie from the bakery a few weeks ago and the woman who waited on us had her mask below her nose. We were alarmed when a 2nd bakery employee in the back was also not wearing her mask over her nose while handling food..All of the employees in the restaurant(who were visible) during our recent visit were wearing masks properly. Unfortunately, we observed careless behavior that unnecessarily exposes customers to risk. We shouldn't have to worry that our food might be placed and left to sit directly in front of an unmasked diner just before being handed to us.

This place hit the spot! Everything came out quickly and correct. The food was good and service even better!
Staff is always the best! The veggie omelet is Delicious. Go for the half order of home fries as their portions are good sized and the omelet fills one plate by itself as does the 1/2 order of home fries! You should never leave hungry. As a treat try the 1/2 moon cookie! Chocolate and Vanilla living in perfect harmony! That's the way all things should be! My personal all time favorite!

Love, love, LOVE Lights! I'm from here, and when I tell people in Louisville, KY about halfmoons, they have no idea what I'm talking about! So every time I visit home, I make sure to take some back, so I can share them with others and let them know what a real halfmoon is like! They call them black and whites down there! Nothing compares to a Lights halfmoon! Or their snowflake rolls! Which no one in Kentucky has ever heard of! Boy are they missing out!
