This was an amazing experience! Kathy and Kevin Maggs made us feel very welcomed and truly appreciate their hospitality throughout our stay. The glamping tents were spacious, with very comfortable beds. We had our own campfire pit and outdoor deck to eat, private bathrooms as well that were very clean and spacious as well. The biking and kayaking was an incredible experience. Kayaking from Fergus back to Elora had some breathtaking views and fun rapids. Overall this was a great experience I'd highly recommend! If you are looking for a little adventure this summer Cathy and Kevin have a great set up. They have lovely glamping tents that are clean, private and spacious. Washrooms are also very clean and spacious (flush toilets and showers y'all!!). Lovely sunsets and sunrises. The biking and kayaking trip was perfect - just thrilling enough to make us feel like we had an excellent adventure (and work out) but also very well run and safe! I don't write reviews often (ever) but this place is worth it! Bring your own water shoes, kitchen wares and food.
When covid took out our travel plans, be booked a weekend adventure here...2 adults and two 18 year old girls and we loved everything about it! So much fun exploring this gorgeous place by bike and boat...and glamping is so much better than camping. An enjoyable way to be safe during covid but not stuck at home. We highly recommend! Thanks for a great time!
This was one of the most memorable weekend trips, from trail bike rides, beautiful bridges and views of the gorge to the most incredible kayak ride down the rapids. The tent was amazing, bed super comfortable the facilities are really clean. Cathy and Kevin are amazing hosts and share great stories about the town and its history. Hands down would do this again.
My husband and I and a group of friends stayed at CK Maggs Adventures for an Elora wedding weekend in August 2019. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the owners Cathy and Kevin. We then enjoyed a craft beer and chatting with them in Muskoka chairs on the farmhouse deck, before we were guided to our accomodations. The very spacious glamping tents were wonderful with king size (or 2-twin) comfortable beds, thick duvets, a lantern provided, a private deck with chairs, nightstands, and closets to hang up our suits and dresses for the wedding. There are also huge clean private bathrooms with hot showers available 24/7, with a well-lit pathway. As a bonus, I was easily able to do my hair and makeup pre-wedding with mirrors and bright lighting in the washrooms! After we got back from the wedding, we enjoyed a bonfire and some laughs amongst our friends and a few new friends/guests under the stars. As the place is outside the city, we could even see the Milky Way! Wow! Waking up to the sound of crows and cows in the morning instead of the sound of traffic was wonderful. And no bugs in the tents made for a peaceful sleep. Even though the night was cool we stayed warm all night with our thick duvets, and I enjoyed a hot shower in the morning! Next time we will do the kayaking and biking too! This is the perfect place to stay for a wedding, for an outdoor adventure, to learn how to or to improve your whitewater kayaking/mountain biking, or for a glamping city escape. I can't wait to go back to this wonderful place again soon!
