Saw my new dentist in Elwood today. Love love It was the most thorough of any dental appointment I ever had. I have a small mouth so exrays were always very uncomfortable as they shoved cardboard under my tongue. My new dentist has digital and very comfortable. Then instead of scraping my teeth they used something that blasted my teeth with water. It was not only more comfortable but quicker too. I had 3 cavities. One was caused by a breakdown of a previous filling. The other 2 we had been keeping an eye on for a few years so no surprise. They were able to take care of the fillings while I was there. The shots were the least painful I have ever had. Everyone's skill level was amazing. They thought of everything for your comfort. They let me wear my sunglasses to reduce the bright light. They gave me a pillow and blanket. They even put vaseline on my lips before the fillings. They also had a plastic piece to keep your mouth open for you and it had holes in it for suctioning so they didn't have to keep putting that in you mouth

I have gone to this dentist my entire life without complaint. Everyone had always been nice, respectful, and very transparent about what they were doing. Now that it has been essentially taken over, I will share the sentiment of others that this is not the same dentistry anymore. It has very clearly taken a turn for the worse. I have too many incidents to document of things my family and I have experienced in this turn over that are negative. The staff and operation of the place comes off as chaotic now. The procedures we have all been used to from going there for many years have suddenly become much more harsh, aggressive even. The doctors I have come in contact with honestly seem full of themselves and they have been incredibly rude to my family and I. This is also the first time I have had any issues with them and insurance. They also seem to have no desire to tell you what they are doing before or when they are doing it. I used to be fine going to the dentist, I didn't mind it at all. This dentistry actually felt like family to me before, people I could always trust. The new staff and operational situation here though, it has actually made me scared. My experiences with the \New Elwood Family Dentistry\ have left me apprehensive about finding a new dentist because I certainly won't be returning here.
