I'd talked to an accountancy firm when I was first sorting out my VAT and thinking of getting help and they 1: took over a week to even reply to my enquiry, and 2: wanted to charge 190 an hour for the privilege... I politely declined. I then advertised for an invoice assistant and Amy from Embassy got in touch with me after spotting my plea for help. Although it's only been a few months, since then I've been continually impressed with everything she's done to sort out my office, and the thoroughness of her work, above and beyond what I expected. Amy setup a system to monitor in and outgoings and even turned up some overdue accounts, one over 5 months old (that I'd been told was paid) which she chased up and most of them were paid within a few weeks. When I first put out the advert I was expecting to hire someone part time, which was going to mean sorting out payrol and a contract, and wages/tax of 6-10k, but instead I give all my paperwork to Embassy (invoices, receipts, the lot) and pay a monthly standing order for a fraction of that cost. Amy lets me know the VAT return info, what payments are due, and gives me monthly reports so I can see how things are going which is a huge change from my own efforts. I highly recommend Embassy to anyone thinking of taking on staff to help with the accounts, or who needs help to get organised (especially procrastinators like me) as Amy is a very pleasant soul to work with, can never do enough to help, and will save you time and money with her efficiency.
