I cannot say enough about Emerge in one review. Basically, I owe my natural birth to Megan Brown (Owner/Doula) and Dr. Vernette McKnight (Doula). I bought a package through the Brainery that included a Doula and birthing classes from Emerge. Megan facilitated the class I took (Birthing from Within) and it gave me all the information to really feel at ease about going into labor. You cannot control everything that happens while pregnant, but you can educate yourself enough to make the best decisions throughout. Megan’s class gave me confidence in my pregnancy and I am soooo thankful! Megan was also my Doula along with Dr. Vernette. I had a long, difficult labor and I owe its success to their knowledge and ability to create the best atmosphere, even in chaotic situations. Megan personally was such a huge motivator to keep me going as she knew just want to say and do at every obstacle. I had gone to other doula events, but did not find the kind of warmth, knowledge and personable-ness that I did at Emerge’s “Meet the Doulas” event. If I was to give anyone advice on what they absolutely need to do while pregnant, I would say birth classes and a doula. I did many other things like massage and chiropractic care (which were wonderful too), but I know my son’s birth would have been a cesarean without Emerge’s services. I cannot recommend them enough. For real though, get an Emerge Doula!!!!

My wife and I attended a birth class with Guina Bixler and it was fantastic. The whole experience brought us closer in connection with the natural birth process, between my wife and I, and most importantly our baby girl to be. I would definitely recommend. Emerge's breastfeeding class presents a shortsighted view on breastfeeding. It does not offer parents the tools to cope with common challenges that could interfere with breastfeeding such as a short milk supply in moms or ankyloglossia (tong-tie) in babies. The class instructors mistakenly assume that all parents will have the same breastfeeding journey. In addition, the class is based on several unsubstantiated claims on the benefits of breastfeeding. I have personally taken a Birthing From Within class with my partner for the birth of our first child. It was aamazing information and well taught from women who are extremely pasionate about what they do as well as educating families on their birthing options. I also contracted one doua for our birth and it was a huge help. I can't say enough good things about Emerge! I am also a provider very involved in the birthing community and I refer many patients their way! I would highly recommend their services!!!
