What a surprise. Such a traditional looking hotel from the outside. Even after entering the front door you're kind of expecting musty dark four poster bedrooms. Thought the entrance looks welcoming, I was still expecting to be handed a big old iron key to my room. Stand back in awe or what! Bright and modern corridor leading to my room and what a delete that was, so technologically up-to-date. Video monitoring for your room door instead of a little hole in the door. Programmable music in the bathroom, that starts as soon as you insert your room card. A well nice little touch. All nice and clean.

This hotel is ridiculous and almost disgusting. When i arrived in my room the hotel smelled like a retirement home and there was high humidity in my room. The furniture and all devices were minimum 20 years old. The whole hotel looks like a museum. During breakfast was a sales event right next to the breakfast room. The breakfast accompanied by loud hand claps and loud presentations from those sales people. Following my experience i would never ever recommend anyone to come to this hotel.

A family-run hotel, very kids friendly (e.g. kids menu, activities for kids while waiting for food to arrive, owners easily interacting with kids). great location for trips with bike or ship, bike garage. Owners very friendly. Room comfortable with big bathroom. Great local food at the restaurant. Overall, an excellent experience.
This hotel is the old and not big one, but the room is clean with good service. This is near Melk and besides the Danube River with so many nice walking streets around.
Very nice hotel. We appreciated most the nice clean sand beach of the Danube in front and there after our swim drink the quarters of wine we found in our room. The food in the garden was also very good.
This was the worst hotel experience of my life. I have never been treated so rudely anywhere else. We were on a bike tour, and this was our first destination. This hotel seems to be a commonly used stop for bike tours of the region. Unfortunately, the tour company assigned the hotel receptionist to welcome us. She was incredibly discourteous, and exuded all the time a vibe that said, “It’s not my job to help you.” (Which it was.) For example, we asked where we could pump up the tires. Instead of showing us the on-site bike garage that had a pressurized pump, which we later found on our own by exploring, she just said that we can fill it at any gas station. After a ride around Melk, we returned to the hotel very hot and tired. I took a long shower and noticed too late that the shower had not been draining, and due to the faux-progressive design, had leaked all over the place, including onto the wood floor. Knowing this could be an immediate structural problem for the hotel, I went to the reception as quickly as I could to tell them about the situation. Instead of issuing even a semblance of an apology, they subjected me to a barrage of yelling and insinuation that I had sabotaged the shower. I have no idea what their theory of the situation could have been. I did not use that shower again. Please never go to this hotel under any circumstance.
