My apologies for this updated review. Unfortunately, Abernethy House Surgery has changed since I wrote my previous review. I'm shocked and saddened by this. Prior to the Covid-19 the situation at Abernethy House began to change. Things are so different now. The situation has drastically changed. We understand why this is so. He and I have attended there well over twenty (20) years. Our GP has changed. This and all GP surgeries are now utilising that inane, awful consult form because the staff are NOT permitted to take messages from patients. The receptionists sound terrified to take messages. I'm serious! The electronic form is referred to by GP surgeries as a short or quick form. This is vastly untrue! It depends on what you file on the form. The last time I utilised this bl_ _ _ ly awful form I typed a lot of issues that I was contending with. I was almost done and suddenly innumerable questions appeared. It took five (5) hours to complete! This is ludicrous! MY TIME is VALUABLE as well. I have NOT filed a form since that one. The Government and the NHS has stated that GPs MUST see each patient face to face. I've spoken to my GP several weeks ago and informed him initially re a new detail and the response he gave me was somewhat a bit of a surprise and shock. This was NOT a joke A few weeks later, a major development occurred. Fortunately, I eventually got control of the situation. This took me a long time. I'm greatly thankful to Jesus for having survived. When I reported this to my own GP he did NOT say a single word. I was gobsmacked! Several moments passed after wat As there was no response nor a reaction from him, I said my usual \Thank You\ and put the phone down.

This review is based on my experience of trying to use the Hub on a Saturday, not on my usual experience which has always been very good. My daughter was seen at the Urgent Care Centre on Boxing Day and diagnosed with a chest infection. I was advised that she should be seen again by a GP in 48hrs which is Saturday. My surgery is at Abernethy House and they are part of Carlton House Hub. Unfortunately, nobody seems able to give the correct advise about how to book an appointment at this hub. I spent time calling between Abernethy House, Carlton House and the 111 sevice and still no luck! Have been trying to call the number I was given for Carlton House Hub but the phone just rings endlessly, no information as to whether you are in a queue or not and after 10 mins a message tells you 'sorry there is no reply' and the line is cut. What a shambles!!!
