Hammond Opticians is staffed by a highly skilled, friendly, professional team, led by Deven. They work together to offer a fantastic service; from reception, to the thorough eye examination, to fitting: making use of all the latest technology and making sure you never feel rushed at any stage. Being an independent optician means that they can offer a fantastic range of frames which differ from the ‘chains’. All the staff are able to get to know the clients and are therefore able to offer continuity of care. Aftercare and communication between visits is excellent. I thoroughly recommend them.

Honestly, by far the best opticians I have ever been to. Not because of being flashy but because of genuinely doing everything properly and MUCH better than any other optician I have been to, especially the chains. They pre-prepared a whole selection of frames for my unusual requirements. They adapted their procedures to my communication preferences. The ophthalmologist talked me through every thing in incredible detail and with great kindness. The optician measured my head with special machines to make the frame fit just right. They had better testing/measuring machines and a better range of frames and accessories than I have EVER found anywhere. The staff were all so kind and genuine. And an independent, local business with a personal touch. Honestly the best optician experience I have ever had. Highly recommended. They treat you well and do everything to be absolute best standard it can be done.

Thank you all at Hammond Opticians for making me feel safe and for the warm and caring welcome at the practice. About a month ago I had a problem with my eyes and was very worried, I was seen at the practice as an emergency , time was taken to explain all the procedures and the equipment being used, which is the very latest. Thankfully my eyes were fine. I then booked an eye test for reading glasses, which I collected yesterday, again the staff were wonderful, kind and caring nothing was too much for them! Once again thank you, stay safe and well.

Hammond Opticians have been brilliant for us. Our 2 year old son has Achromatopsia, a rare eye condition which (among other things) means he’s highly sensitive to light and has poor eyesight. Mez was great with him - quickly won his affections and made him an obliging customer - we tried on various frames in stock and then he researched further options after we’d left the shop. We went back a few days later when they had a variety of styles and designs for us to try. We ended up buying 3 pairs of glasses and a pair of tinted swimming goggles! They have all been game-changers for our son and made his life easier. The team at Hammonds really care about their customers and went out of their way to meet our unique requirements. We would highly recommend them to everyone.

I have been a very satisfied, repeat customer at Hammond Opticians since 2016, even though I live over an hour and half away from there. I have been visiting opticians for over 20 years, and the quality of services and care that Deven provides is second to none. The environment is friendly and professional, I never once felt rushed during the appointments, as Deven and his team really takes the time to explain all the questions that I have (and I had a lot of questions). As an essential service, Deven and his team have been continuing to provide high quality care during the COVID-19 period. The measures that the team takes to minimal any risk of infection is on par, if not more stringent, than many clinical settings. Prior to the physical appointment, Deven contacted me by phone and we had a detailed conversation regarding the history my eyes since the last appointment and Deven also explained what to expect during the actual upcoming appointment. During the actual appointment, Deven still took the necessary time required to perform comprehensive physical check up; I felt very comfortable and safe throughout the process. I would not hesitate to recommend Hammond Opticians to anyone who is seeking for high quality service and eye care.
