My advise to all landlords never ever use this company. All they interested in is to get your property on their list so they make their commission, and when you have problems with tenants be it late rents or trouble caused by the tenants, Mears Group will not assist in any way. As I said all they interested in is getting their commission. We had many instances where Notice 21 is issued against the tenant. In return Mears Group still informed the tenant not to vacate and the landlord might not take it any further. Even when you go to court after paying considerable amount of money to the courts. Mears Group will not assist you in any shape or form. We can not stress to you anymore that never use them. Very bad letting agent and very untrustworthy.

Worst housing company absolutely worst! I'm a disabled person living in one of they're property with my child. I have been without electricity for 3 days tomorrow make 4. I have had issues with the property that took them year to sort out and the only reason they sort it is because it went to court. Did they do it properly note they done really horrible job because they property is due to demolition so you can imagine how they repair team carry out they're jobs. I have been in touch with the area manager Andy. He as agreed for compensation that he never paid and ignore me for about 9 months and counting. I could go on about this problems that I'm currently experiencing right now. If you can stay away from the housing company stay far they service is really horrible and disgusting

Shockingly bad service; they are all about cost-cutting and failed promises. After all the negative experiences with this company ,I went on to do a bit of research on them. Mears are an outsourcing company that are responsible for the maintenance of 1000s of local authority-owned homes across the country. However , they have been hit by several scandals over the years due to poor quality repair work ,overcharging and multiple allegations of corruption. Milton Keynes, Stroud and Brighton council have all had serious issues with Mears so far ,with more cases emerging in the London Borough of Newham as well. Mears relies on public contracts for its continuous growth and claim to offer \good value for money\ to cash-strapped local authorities. They are also increasingly involved with regeneration schemes and owe a large chunk of National Planning Portal which gives them a lot of info on land ownership etc. Overall I have found this company to be throughly dishonest and repair works are rarely if ever completed even though they are supposed to have 3 monthly property inspections to identify what maintenance needs to be done. Rent is also over-inflated and the company offers poor value to tenants ,several of whom are now resorting to fixing repair issues on their own rather than waste time on Mears. As for being a Mears tenant, it has been a nightmare so far. The onprofit\ arm of Mears is quick to collect rent from the tenants but fails to deliver its promises and there have been numerous examples to this. Furthermore, the business model of Mears depends on continuous expansion but financial performance has been dropping which has caused issues with shareholders. Again, I am not surprised. Although in more robust financial health ,Mears has a similar business model to Carrillion & make money of public- private finance initiatives which is risky on the long term,no matter what.

I live in an over 55s gated community. My lease specifically says domestic use only. The guy next door is a builder who uses his property specifically for his business. His back garden is full of building material even though his lease says he must take care of his \garden\ He keeps his truck out front too! Having contacted Mears Housing several times about this over several weeks, they just don't do anything. All they appear to be interested in is the monthly rent. If you need this kind of property in the Ollerton, Notts area, please don't. They are the worse landlord I've ever encountered.

My late Mother was a leaseholder in a Council Flat,The local authority London Borough of Barnet used them for maintenance. The most recent example of appointments they made to carry out work , was to re and failed to show up was to remove asbestos from the kitchen ceiling, a no show.Water leaking through the roof through into her kitchen 3 years to resolve then refused to repair/repaint the damaged caused on the ceiling, despite the water coming through the blocks building which wasn't her responsibility but the local council.
