Carrigan Forest

Lovely forest trails that includes the Ulster Way and Lough Formal walk. After about 25 minutes walking from the entrance to the forest, you come to junction that goes left or straight ahead. Follow the trail straight ahead and after about another 20 minutes you will pass Lough Formal and have climbed up Formal More for an outstanding 360 degree view of the surrounding countryside. Return back on the trail, past Lough Formal to the junction. You have the choice of returning straight back to your car for a short walk or turning right and following the black arrow waymarkers in a longer circular route that will bring you back to your car. The short walk back to your car will take about 90 minutes. The longer circular walk will take about 140 minutes and the last 15 minutes of it will be on a quiet tarmaced road.
