A boardwalk that allows you to easily enjoy the scenery of the Cuilcagh Mountains. The mountains and the approach to them are mostly bog-land, so to allow convenient access, a path and boardwalk have been created. The car park is quite far away and there is a longish walk to reach the boardwalk. Parking attendants charge 6 Euro or 5 Pounds Sterling for parking. While not particularly difficult for anyone in moderate physical condition, it does take some fitness and stamina, and it is not suitable for those with impaired mobility. Dress appropriately, as it is a bare mountainside, with no shelter for wind and rain. Like any outdoor activity in Ireland, it is probably best on a good day. The views from the top are quite good though, and the overall experience of climbing is a good one. Experienced mountain climbers or hill walkers will probably find it a bit tame, but for the average person, it is a way to experience some of the fun of Irish mountains in a safe and easy fashion.

Wow.. I was first one there in the morning and a Warden took me to the gate.. 6.00 was not too bad for parking and I could start walking as I left the car. The first bit was easy but the stairs and boardwalk was slightly challenging and I just had to keep on moving. The four km's back went very quick and by then there were loads of people to chat to. An excellent way to spend a morning. Went to the Caves from there and the day cost me about 25.

A beautiful out & back 11km hike. Highly recommend. It took 2.5 hrs walking at a steady pace to finish. This trail isn't hugely demanding. There is no real shelter on trail so ensure to pack appropriately. The earlier you get there the better as the car park has limited space and fills up early.

A fantastic walk which we measured at just over 7 miles from the bottom carpark to the top of the boardwalk and back again. Give yourself plenty of time to complete and enjoy the views. (5.00 for car parking).

A wonderful attraction and well worth the trip. Parking is charged at 5. It is a tough walk to the summit, I consider myself relatively fit and believe me it was demanding, especially climbing the steps. You will be glad you made the effort. You are very exposed so dress appropriately. Try to pick a nice day if possible. There are no toilets so if you have a weak bladder, be sure to empty it at Marble Arch caves before you start the walk.
