3rd time - they promise next day shipment, after 1 week still no shipment. Email inquiries replied to after 2-3 days. No response after order placement except an auto reply. Impossible to get an immediate response. Most reviews are likely bought.

I purchased four Bell SES/E14 240v 15w replacement light bulbs via the Electrical World website. The ordering process was straightforward, and communication very good. Delivery costs were greater than the cost of the item, which at the time did not bother me, although it is the reason for the four star review. When the bulbs arrived, the box containing the them was only marginally deeper than the bulb boxes it contained. It was, however, considerably larger overall than the four light bulb boxes (see images) it was transporting, and severely battered during transit. The packing was so severely damaged in transit I held little hope for the contents. It had been crushed in several places, which at the time, and upon realising what was inside caused real concern. Thankfully, the area where the bulbs had naturally settled during transit was not too badly impacted, and all of the bulbs managed to survive the journey - see the images. While I accept transport conditions and handling is outside the control of Electrical World, the size and way the items are packed and managed prior to shipping is not. There was absolutely nothing inside the shipping box to protect the bulbs during transit. It was by sheer luck they all managed to survive the journey. It would be easy to just let this go, and accept that the item I needed was OK. However, that might not be the case for the next person ordering the same or similar item. On top of the packing issues, delivery took longer than quoted for the price paid and time frame quoted, and with the packing being so poor the cost is definitely over the top. Would I use Electrical World again? To be honest, I probably would, although it would depend on what I was looking for, how urgently I needed the item, and price for P&P.

I ordered an ELECTRA light fitting as advertised and they sent a KNIGHTSBRIDGE fitting. This was important as I wanted to connect to existing Electra wiring. I returned the item and they refused to refund my postage despite the Instructions from Electrical World under the Returns page stating "Affix the appropriate postage to your package. Please note that the return postage will be added to your refund if the return is a result of our error". Two months and 11 emails from me and they refused to budge. I certainly won't be using them again.

Great service ordered via the online website ordered to the Republic of Ireland ordered a few different items 2.5mm 3core etc i got great prices very pleased and delivery was only 5.12, all items arrived in perfect condition box was well bubbled wrapped inside, ordered Monday night 16th and arrived on Saturday evening at 8 pm on the 21st. Very pleased will order again.

First order, never again. Two of the metal clad products I bought were substituted without even informing me or giving the option to cancel. I don't know if this is common practice for electrical merchants but I expect to get what I ordered i.e what's in the picture. They sent me the newer Knightsbridge metal clad sockets not the clearance ones (old design) and they look horrible. Some might say it's picky but they're going to be seen above a workbench so I didn't want to be looking at some awful dogbone inserts therefore specifically looked for the MK style previous design. Not bothered that they didn't have then because obv stock can't be 100% accurate but customers should be informed. The other product was as a switched spur. They sent me one with a flex hole. If I wanted that, I'd have ordered it. I guess for most metal clad installations fitters might not care but I don't think that's a good excuse to just send out different products without telling the customer. I'd never order from them again because it's just a waste of my time having to return the stuff etc. They're too big to care about repeat custom or getting first orders correct. I can't trust them to send the stuff I order so won't be coming back. Lastly, and probably the most annoying thing ; they sent the order in a box branded with their parent company 'phairs'. It was also on the courier email so definitely the same company. I looked on the website and the prices where significantly lower than what I paid from their sister website. Never ever again.

This is an absolutely rubbish company . I ordered 2 heaters on December 15th and did not receive them. Electrical World has refused to reimburse me despite numerous emails. Do not use this company because if something goes wrong they take no responsibility at all. Waste of time and money. Left freezing cold all over Christmas period.

Found the bits that I needed here at a lower price than Amazon, so decided to give them a go and was pleasantly surprised. The parts arrived within a few days and were exactly as described and well packaged. Overall, it was a straight-forward online shopping experience that was absolutely perfect from start to finish so I'd definitely recommend comparing prices before you buy from the usual sites. We need to start supporting businesses other than the online mega-retailers who used to offer better value, but that isn't the case any more.
