This was a great hike! It is a little harder than expected based on other reviews and websites that we read. We also had a dog on leash and a baby in a carrier. Make sure to bring plenty of water if it is hot! The trail wasn't super busy but everyone we encountered was kind and respectful. There isn't a lot of room to pass though. The hike and uphill battle was well worth it for amazing views of the mountains including Mt. Rainier. Highly recommend!

Very beautiful hike. Some steep switchbacks, but not too bad. The views are absolutely worth it. We'll do it again when it's more clear.
Absolutely breathtaking views. Must go on a beautiful clear day for spectacular scenery. We went in the fall time and got to see some colorful leaves as well. Would highly recommend. The road to get there is bumpy and a dirt trail for several miles, but our mini van pulled through no problem.
On my drive up to the lookout I managed to take a wrong turn and eneded up at a dead end road. I quickly realized that I was staring across to Kelly Butte! From where I was I was able to capture a cool panameraic image of Mt Rainer and Kelly Butte!! This firelookout is a Must Do for sure! Great short, intense hike with amazing views.
Easy hike , good for kid . Big view reward on top at the look out .
Great short hike, with a active lookout. Great views from all around.
If you’re into hiking you’ll love it! However, no one tells you that this is more like an uphill battle than a fun hike ( don’t get wrong tho you can definitely do it tho, just not what you’re expecting when most reviews say it’s fun! Great! Easy!) It’s pretty sketchy at some points(but to be fair I had a kid in a backpack strapped to me), a little difficult to find we took a wrong turn bc we lost service and ended up on a sketchy road with some major cliffs :). Going up takes forever but coming down is pretty quick! I did it mid day and it was cool but sunrise or sunset would be incredible.
Grand and breathtaking views of Rainier and Northern Cascades. Hike up mid August for delicious wild blueberries. You might get lucky enough to observe the mountain goats who frequent the Butte.
