One needs to inquire about policies regarding retired (tenured) Rector's. It is their position that they may not worship in the Church from which they retired, for a period of up to two years. They have statistics to back up that policy. Teacher's do this all of the time to later volunteer, substitute, or maybe just switch grades. They are not banned from school, they are welcomed champions and in many cases mentors, for other teacher's. The Bishop makes this call? Disclaimer: I am not a member but I have VERY CLOSE TIES.
