Lovely pub, nice atmosphere and good location being in the high street. Has own parking but we managed to get a spot outside. Only stayed for drinks so can't comment on the food but the restaurant looked really welcoming so hopefully we will be back to try it out.

Excellent village pub with sophisticated food menu. The children's menu is varied and offers healthy options for every dish. Do book ahead as it does get busy on the weekends.

Very disappointed! (Updated review as I can’t answer the owner reply: The problem and main concern is the lack of manners and cooperation from the waitress, we asked for help. The best we got from from the waitress was that not even in the kitchen wouldn’t know the ingredients of the food they serve) We book the table already mentioning that we would need a gluten-free menu. We arrived and were sited down very politely but there wasn’t any gluten-free menu, so we had to look at the website and the waitress iPad that would have every plates nutritional information. This wasn’t ideal but is not the reason of the review. The waitress who took our order(not the one that welcome us) felt extremely rude and not helpful at all. As a celiac intolerant my friend ordered the ROTISSERIE HALF CHICKEN and ask for some help picking some side as the fries were “fried with the fish and everything together” as the waitress said; to this suggestion request she answer quite harshly “that’s your responsibility to pick what you want” We tried to reason with her and asked for mashed potato to what the waitress told us that they have it pre-made and didn’t know for sure if it was gluten free. Is it normal not knowing what do you serve in the restaurant? Not even in the kitchen? Because this waitress claimed so. At this point we didn’t see any option to reason with her, but due to her disappointing and rude behaviour, plus The lack of knowledge of what they serve in this restaurant we definitely won’t come back. It’s a shame because the food wasn’t half bad and the desserts were delicious! But good customer service is the face of a business.

Good selection of drinks. Food looks good but way overpriced. I mean 15 for a burger? We're in Epping not Piccadilly Circus. Anyway, bar staff are nice and it's a relaxed atmosphere.

We popped in by chance Tuesday lunch for a quick bite. We were welcomed at the door and the manageress explained the new rules to us which were reassuring. It was lovely to be seated straight away and loved being pampered while seated without having to order at the bar. We had a lovely lunch and we will definitely recommend to our friends and family.

Both food and service was great, couldn't fault my experience at all. Staff all were masks and kept their distance. David our waiter was very pleasant 5*

Met a couple of friends here for some drinks. We had cocktails which were amazing! The staff were all really friendly. The lady at the door was really welcoming and explained how things worked as she sat us down, which was very organised and safe. Unlike some places we have been to in the last few weeks. We will definitely be back!
