It was a real pleasure dealing with Jack from the start. He was honest about the car and the issues that the car had which was reflected in the price. He was happy for us to inspect the car fully and take it for a test drive. He let us listen to the engine during the test drive and put no pressure on us to buy it.

Decent bloke to deal with however, I made him a solid offer and he promised he would get back to me a week later with a decision... Never heard from him ever again. As it happens lucky me because he did me a favour as I ended up with a better deal plus the car is now reduced to lower than what I originally offered. I gave him 2 stars because he does come across as a nice guy, but I don't like being disrespected and messed around.

I highly recommended Downs Autos to anybody! Jack is pleasant, honest and does not shy away from responsibilities when things go wrong. The vehicle was in better than described condition when we arrived, so long distance purchasers need not worry. We purchased a Volvo XC60, on the way home it threw up a ECU light causing the vehicle to intermittently go into limp mode. Mechanical and electrical components fail, it’s how Jack dealt with the issue which places him a cut above the rest. I contacted Jack, he advised me to book it into my local Volvo dealer straight away. I suggested we use a local specialist as it may be cheaper. The vehicle was booked in and 430 fault (failed EMAP sensor) repaired. I submitted invoice to Jack which he promptly paid me back for. I live 2.75 hours away from him, he could of requested I bring vehicle back or deal with the warranty people which is always a nightmare. I appreciate that things can and do go wrong, not every transaction is hassle free, but, it’s how we deal with them when they do go wrong which matters most! My only suggestion is that he includes a open road in his test run to get vehicle to 70mph, our test drive did not include this. This is me being petty and picky. Thanks Jack for a pleasant experience all round, my wife loves her new car! I will be returning to Downs Autos again in a couple of years for our next purchase!
