My daughter was at university in Epsom and she found a property through Eastons that was close to the campus that was advertised including a fortnightly communal area cleaner. The viewing was interesting with the representative from Eastons appeared hungover and disinterested in the property. There were 3 other tenants in the shared house who were in their notice period and soon left. When they left, the entire house was painted, except my daughters room. Contractors would turn up unannounced: 7 people on one occasion being landlord, landlords daughter, estate agent, a viewing, carpet fitter and painters/decorators all in one go! The smoke detectors became faulty and despite repeated reporting to Eastons, this was not taken care of until I became involved many months later. SAFETY OF TENANTS IS NOT A PRIORITY. The cleaner never appeared even though this was queried with Eastons, contact was ignored repeatedly. Whenever contacting Lorraine, Julie, Lavina and Charlotte and we were always fobbed off to someone else, rather than politely forwarding the query. Their attitude is blunt to the point of being rude. In order to get any response from Eastons, rather than being nice you are better mirroring their appalling attitude. Customer service appears bottom of the priority for this estate agent. Avoid at all costs, even if the ideal property is with them, you are much better off going through anyone else.
