This confidence-boosting service is available in 26 countries and collectively the charity has supported more than 1.8m people to date. Launched in the UK in 1994 our main aim is to greatly increase people's self-esteem at a very difficult time in their lives. The free confidence boosting workshops are held all over the country for men, women and teenagers who are undergoing treatment for any type of cancer. Volunteers help attendees address a number of issues that they may be facing, such as; dry, sensitive skin; redness; sallow skin; recreating missing eyebrows and for the men, local barbers offer advice on shaving. We also produce information booklets and a host of online tutorials. Had a great evening 5th February 2020 friendly volunteers with fantastic help and tips also the most amazing goodie bag to take home, just the best way to spend an evening if you have been through or going through cancer treatment,would thoroughly recommend looking out for this workshop

Yesterday Wed 26th July I took my little sister Jayne (I say little because she is my youngest sister of 8 siblings! Although she IS 60!) to Knights Hill Kings Lynn Norfolk to a very interesting but very moving two hours of Look Good Feel Better make up tuition . We walked in to be met by very friendly volunteers and to also meet the lovely Amanda Moore, who I had never set eyes upon, until 4 weeks ago, when I was lucky enough to be sat near her at a friends wedding. We got chatting, as us ladies do! We talked about hair and I said I was having my hair shaved off on the 31st July in support of my little sister who had recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Amanda then passed me her Look Good Feel Better card, which she just happened to have in her wedding bag! I was seated at the side of the room, as 10 very nervous looking ladies sat around a huge table laden with mirrors, make up removers and tissues . Their faces lit up when they were each handed a beautiful white zip up bag full of all the make up required for their session. Amanda then introduced herself to them and gradually using step by step tuition, they transformed their faces . Some were very reluctant. Some knew exactly what to do and some asked for help. When it came to the eyebrows Amanda said "Now don't worry if they are not level. Your eyebrows are not twins. They are siblings!" (I giggled at this) She made them all feel at ease and as they finished with their lipstick and some put on their wigs, they turned into very confident ladies indeed. It was both amazing and a very moving experience. Thank you for allowing me to sit in - with thanks Janice Curtis x (Jayne's BIG sister!) x seen here with Jayne Before and After photographs.. PS After just 5 weeks and with only 3 days to go before hair salon appointment , my total so far for sponsored head shave is 2,114 - We are overwhelmed!
