So what ended up happening, they didn't have any vehicles when I arrived, I reserved a compact car. After waiting and waiting at the office, they then much later offered me a 12 passenger van that I couldn't park 1/4 mile near where I was staying, but I had no other option but to accept and they said that they just weren't going to get me a smaller car and to figure out the problem or I had to deal with the van.

Decent price, but my rental car smelled badly of cigarettes and tons of perfume. Cigarette burn by the window and dirty, stained back seats. Had to air it out and by the end of the week it was tolerable.
EDIT: Editing this from one to two stars. I need to mention the guy who checked us back in was nice enough and personable and the shuttle driver was very friendly and easy to talk to. He had us laughing by the time we got off the shuttle both ways. The biggest reason I'm editing this is that I finally got a hold of the front desk and after being put on hold twice for about 10 total minutes, I was told the additional charge was due to tax being added to the gas charge. Apparently they can add the gas charge and all other taxes to your receipt and charge you that amount but they can't add the taxes for the gas until later and they don't warn you about it being an additional charge. Previous review: Don't bother calling this location if you have a question or issue; no one answers. To start, when I first rented the car, I was told a certain amount would be held on my car and when I later checked my account, an extra 200 was pending on my account that I was not warned about. I called at that time to try to get some information: no answer. Upon returning the vehicle, the gentleman who checked us in let us know that's been going on for 2 years now and it's something between the bank and the rental agreement and that I won't actually be charged the extra 200. My thoughts are that if it's been going on for 2 years, let the clients know that could happen. Next, now that I've been charged the amount I expected to be charged, I check my account and I was charged an additional 3.00 a day later. Mind you, 3.00 isn't a lot but it's my money and Avis wasn't authorized to remove that from my account. So, I try calling again and again, there was no answer. I will be pleasantly surprised if I get a response to this review. I would like that charge removed and at the very least, an explanation for it.
This was the most disappointing rental experience I've had....My flight landed at CVG around 10PM. At around 8PM I received texts from your employees personal phones that my car would be parked in the airport parking garages, keys in the gas tank, agreement in the glove box, and parking ticket in the car. They had to close the store....When I landed at CVG I had to find my car in the airport parking garage. The car was not clean - which is especially disappointing during the COVID pandemic. I also had pay for my parking ticket to get out of the Airport Parking garage - strange customer service all the way around.
Customer services are always excellent! Checking the car in and out was easy and not stressful. Thank you
