Schinkels is a place you need to stop at while in Essex. Store is clean and open, but beware of the wafting smells as it may detour you from why you went there, but you definitely wont be disappointed! Great selection of deli meats and cheese along with ready made hot meals. They also have many prepared meals ready to heat and an enormous frozen selection to take home for later. Also this is a gem that supports other local businesses where you can find Riverside tavern, Bubbis sauces and so much more! Also great customer service

Yesterday I decided to order 2 Holiday Gift Baskets from Schinkel's for family members. Jacqueline took my order and was very helpful. I just received a \Pic\ from my brother. Nice little butcher shop with plenty of frozen homemade prepared meals (mainly portioned in single serve or for two). Also portions of meat and frozen fish vacuum packed in single serve portions. Nice looking meat selection. Thick marbled steaks and a reputation or amazing bacon. If I lived alone I would definitely be making at least a monthly trip to stock up the freezer with prepared foods and quality meats.
