A small, pleasant up-market residential complex a few minutes' walk from the marina. This is, with the larger Puerto Alto complex next door, the nicest of all the complexes within easy walking access to the Old Town and all it has to offer. Unlike the large complexes along the coast road, this has not got several hundred apartments which can fill with noisy young holidaymakers in summer. It is a modestly-sized area, with a small central garden and swimming pool only 2 minutes' walk from the SuperSol Supermarket, and less than 5 minutes from the Open-All-Hours (well, it doesn't shut until about 2 in the morning) SuperCor Express at the entrance to the Marina. Both the Sunday market in the Marina, and the Wednesday market just up the road, are within a few minutes' walk. The latter sells fruit and veg at amazing prices. There are also children's playgrounds nearby, slides, swings, etc. The Marina itself with a wide range of restaurants and bars catering to international tastes is easily accessible, and the Estepona Old Town is a 25 minute stroll along the seafront promenade, with all its Spanish bars and restaurants if you prefer not to drink Irish beer, nor eat curry or pizza in the marina every day. Just some days, though, it’s so nice to be so near! TIP: the nearest authentic Spanish restaurant is La Escollera, just outside the marina, near the Wholesale Fish Market. One of the best restaurants of all Estepona with fish so fresh it looks about to jump off your plate. There is also La Caracola in a backstreet of the Marina, open only a few days a week, a real Spanish gem. Plus the French restaurant Le Petit Paris . . . You'll eat well! The one negative about La Fragata is that unlike many other complexes, it has no underground parking. This means that residents have to park in nearby streets. Hence only 4 stars in general, although if you are renting, your owner may have a place in the underground car park just across the road, bringing it up to 5 stars!

Lovely little apartment urbanisation. Small blocks set round pool and garden, quiet but easy to get to supermarkets, Sunday and Wednesday market, two beaches, the marina and the seafront promenade to walk into town. Well maintained grounds and spacious apartments. Very pleased.
