Ethnosound is a creative enterprise known in Hungary and the broader Central European region for its significant collection of world music instruments, its interactive musical team building services and its music community development. Ethnosound runs an instrument store in the Palace of Culture - Müpa Budapest (https://www.mupa.hu/en/about/services/ethnosound-musical-instrument-store) and has recently opened webshop https://www.ethnosound.hu/shop. The company was started by world musicians and music fans in order to maintain cultural heritage, share and spread the joy of making music and its community building power, and to enable wider society and vulnerable groups to access music's positive impact on body and soul. In 2005 a café and community space was opened in downtown Budapest offering concerts, films and workshops. In one corner a world music instrument collection started and gradually evolved into a collection of instruments unique in Europe. The community program experimented with team building through music. Based on experiences at schools, companies, etc. a portfolio of interactive musical team building services was developed: - experiential drumming - interactive drum show - making music together using authentic percussion instruments; - constructing cajon: building a Peruvian percussion instrument - making music together – a souvenir instrument; - carton cajon-puzzle: building a Peruvian percussion instrument - decoration - putting together the picture - making music together – a souvenir instrument; - instrument stroking: experiencing exotic musical instruments directly; - boomwhackers: live xylophone - making music together with tuned pipes; - sound therapy: experiential relaxation with Tibetan sound-bowls, gongs, sound-bed.
