I had taken my 16 year old senior cat to Hartland Cat Hospital for years before moving out of state. Having recently moved back in state, I took her back there again for her checkups, as well as medication for a thyroid issue she has had for many years. My cat has been taken to Hartland 3 times in the past 4 months, first for thyroid check, at which time her dose of medication was increased. The second visit was for a recheck to see if the increase was effective. The third visit was for an issue with her losing weight. All three times, they told me that she would have to be sedated due to her being difficult with the staff. I told them I would much rather come in to assist, as she doesn't really like being handled by other people, but she will let me handle her most of the time, even when she won't let vet staff do so. They refused and said they would need to sedate her, which I reluctantly agreed to. The third and most recent time I took her in for having lost weight, they confirmed she had lost weight, but said they couldn't find anything wrong with her except gas in her digestive system. They gave me a gas medicine, as well as an antibiotic. Having reviewed the bill I was given, they did not recheck her thyroid levels to see if that might have been an issue. She is still having issues after having given her all of the medication they provided. I used to love taking my cat to this location, as they were very helpful, friendly, and took great care of her. After the last three visits, I do not plan on bringing my cat back here, as they do not seem to give her the same care and attention as they used to. I don't know if the issues are due to a different staff or what is happening, but I hope, for the sake of the other pets that are entrusted to their care, that they figure out the problem and resolve it.

The staff and Dr. Hartland take wonderful care of my kitties
Dr. Hartland has been our vet for years and years now. She and her techs and her office staff have always been the best you could possibly wish for. Kind, professional, great customer service, personal touches. They just always go above and beyond. I really appreciate how Dr. Hartland has always been so kind and clear and sweet with us. We’ve had a three cats pass over the years and Dr. Hartland always sends a sympathy card and makes a donation in the cat’s names. Who does that any more? Above and beyond. Now with two new kitten rescues in the midst of the pandemic, I wanted to praise them again for the masks and the drop off and the social distancing. They are taking everyone’s health seriously and still remaining kind and professional. Highly, highly recommended for your cat’s health and for your own appreciation. Five stars all day long.
Hartland Cat Hospital is great. They have been so accommodating by being open on Saturdays. Dr. Hartland and the staff have been very caring with my elderly, blind cat. I would definitely recommend Hartland Cat Hospital.
I love Hartland Cat Hospital! I've been taking both my kitties here since 2017 and would trust no one else with them! Dr. Hartland is one of the most compassionate and caring vets I've had the pleasure to meet and her staff are all top notch as well. I've had to have surgeries, medical over night stays, ongoing care for a diabetic cat, and have even utilized their boarding services. Every experience has been wonderful! I waited a while before deciding to go with them, because I was afraid their pricing would be too much for me. That couldn't have been further from the truth. They are more than reasonable and even perhaps cheaper than most! They take Care Credit as well, should you need it. If you're hesitating, don't. Dr. Hartland and her team are amazing - you'll wish you would have tried them sooner!
