Excellent place to learn about ocean aviation. The staffs are experts who can answer questions regarding boats and ships. The museum guide is excellent, must attend. There are a lot of kids friendly activities to understand the operations on the ship. Highly recommended to visit with kids. Currently the admission fee is 100/person, kids under 110cm height / sub elementary is free.

I highly recommend visiting this museum if you have a chance. The museum is great for kids and adults alike. The model ships are incredibly detailed, exhibits are top notch, and the docents are super friendly and helpful.

It’s just north of the main gate for Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall. Intricate ship models and artifacts show the developments from Egyptian times to early steam-driven ships in the first set of galleries on the fifth floor. Down on the fourth floor you see fine examples of engine-powered ships of the 20th century, including ocean liners, cargo vessels, and warships. Surprisingly for a museum in Taiwan, nearly all the displays illustrate ships of the West, but on the third floor exhibits tell of the history of Taiwan and the sea. Also on the third floor, Marine Paintings galleries display many fine works by mainly Western artists. Lastly on the second floor is the collection of navigational instruments, a ship’s bridge, and an engine control room. All this filled an afternoon for me! The museum is open Tues.-Sun. 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and costs NT200 (half price for us older folks 65).

An excellent museum containing a large number of model ships and maritime exhibits. As the museum is on 5 floors, it's easy to spend a few hours looking round everything.
