I first visited here 2 weeks ago with the intention of trying out an Ashford kiwi spinning wheel I was considering buying to replace my current Louet, which I bought secondhand and was continually struggling with. The owners, Gai and her husband were so welcoming and helpful. I tried the Kiwi, but didn't gel with it. I felt very disappointed as I thought it was down to my lack of skill, despite having spun several years before on my Ashford traditional quite competently. Gai asked me to try a traveller wheel instead as she thought it might suit me better. Now, I much prefer the look of more modern wheels and hadn't honestly considered a traveller but I was happy to bow to her experience and give it a try. What a revelation! I gelled with the wheel immediately and whilst I didn't buy it that day, 10 days later I went back and got the wheel. If anyone is wishing to purchase any fibre related equipment then I cannot recommend a trip here to do so more highly. There's no pressure to buy, just lots of help, advice and a warm and friendly welcome!
