What a great little piece of history. The ferryman winches the rope tight, pulling it out of the water, and then pulls the ferry across by hand. Great treat for any kids (young or old!)

Beautiful spot, busy but still maintains an air of calm and tranquility.. Lots of people about, enjoying the peaceful river views.. Perfect for post lockdown relaxed walking..mood enhancing..
