Starting at the beginning. I contacted Shire following a recommendation after I had received quotes from other installers. It was a very interesting conversation as John was suggesting I replaced my ailing boiler with one of a much lower capacity. Said ailing boiler was some 14 years old and had been a problem from day 1. The manufacturer had told me that the problem was caused by insufficient circulation water flow not taking the heat away from the boiler quickly enough. A larger capacity pump was installed to no effect!! Several heating engineers told me the same thing over the years, so I came to believe them. It came as a big surprise when John advised me that the ailing boiler was far too big a capacity. You might imagine I asked the question about what would happen if the boiler he recommended was not sufficient for the task. I was assured that it would be and if it was not, he would replace it with a higher capacity unit - this was in writing. With this assurance and a very reasonable quote, I gave him the go ahead. A very quick and efficient installation carried out by extremely competent personnel and I now have a boiler that is perfectly capable of producing the heat output that my house requires, and what is more, probably still has a bit of spare capacity in hand!! It probably goes without saying but I am absolutely delighted with the unit and the installation and am looking forward to the fuel savings I will be making due to the efficiency of the boiler operating near to it's maximum capacity when being called upon. We had a water leak on old oil fired heater and replacements no longer manufactured. John came highly recommended and gave us a quote. We had other quotes but decided on his quote so gave him the go ahead. He turned up on time as promised with the new combi boiler. He and his minnion apprentice worked hard all day ripping out old system and installing new one. Cups of coffee and home made ginger cake kept then focused!! By the end of the day we had heat again and John has called back since to check system is working fine. Well impressed and would recommend to anyone.
