Mortimer house is a nice complex it can be very noisy at times and the staff are always ready to help they are not support workers so it's good if you are engaged with services that offer support .The kitchen opens on a Monday morning for bacon sandwiches tea coffee at a reasonable price.my experience here has helped me to live independently and my confidence and self esteem has helped me grow

The staff here only have limited interaction has they are known as housing staff my experance at mortimer house is good I don't get involved in drama there is drinking parties that included drugs and difficult unwanted behaviour. There is a problem with weed but there are procedures in place and staff are aware of this problem. Mortimer house could and should be a place where you can make your journey to the next step going back into normality. Mortimer is listed as supported living however there is not enough staff to provide this service. I personally think the staff try there best to support but with only 3 staff and 64 residents it becomes difficult

Your experience I think would depend on a) What type of person you are b) Your expectations c) your ability to get on with others. Mortimer house has over 60 flats, with Tenants from all different backgrounds. Personally I get the opportunity to lock myself away and not be bothered by anyone. However there are residents who mix well. The staff are approachable when needed but other than that leave you alone. There is also a fair but of money being spent on the place with new carpets and kitchens to come. The only real downside is neighbours playing music til the early hours, although this is generally once a week if that and the lift not working although have been told it will be sorted sooner rather than later.

I finde the staff very friendly and helpful WHEN you can get hold of them but more times then not when I knock to get hold of them lately knowone seams to Answer the door..I no they are limited on staff and there are lots of residents but maybe they could do with more staff? But other then that im really likeing it at mortimer Maybe the door to get into the building could get fixed but I understand they are most likely struggling in theses hard times like everyone is right now.
